Continuing with our topic Pole to Pole, this week in Year 1 each class had a task to create an igloo model using sugar cubes or marshmallows and toothpicks. The children had to ensure their model had a round base, a door and that it could stand up independently. Their challenge was to work as a team in small groups and share ideas, think collaboratively and build on their turn taking skills. Finally, the children had to analyze their model and brain storm on what went well and what could be done better with their igloo structures. The children came up with some great models!
