Year One have had a great week. We were lucky enough to have a Composition Workshop with the fabulous Pippa Cleary. The children absolutely loved being stuck in and created the most wonderful music. We also had an inspirational Key Stage One assembly, in which the children were able to learn more about Pippa’s work and ask her questions. We celebrated all things outdoors during Outdoor Learning Day on Thursday. Year One had a mindful walk with the Year Six children from Belmont, created a map of the Science Garden, took part in Outdoor Games and had a Nature Poetry lesson with Mrs Simon. It was a fantastic day.
The children have been learning about the environment and the importance of nature, through our new text ‘The Tree’. The book has very few words and so children were able to create their own version, using the pictures as prompts.
