Pancake Race

Yesterday marked another successful year for the Annual Grimsdell Pancake Race, a cherished event that has become a highlight for our community. Combining the spirit of friendly competition with a philanthropic purpose, the race serves as both a House event and a fundraiser for worthy causes.

This year, we are proud to support two exceptional charities: ‘Ickle Pickle’ and ‘Rays of Sunshine’. The ‘Ickle Pickle’ Charity is dedicated to providing critical care equipment for premature babies. Their ambitious goal is to become the charity partner for 150 neonatal units, ensuring that every new born has access to vital equipment. By working nationally and delivering tangible benefits locally, ‘Ickle Pickle’ offers a lifeline to vulnerable babies and their families during a critical time.

On the other hand, ‘Rays of Sunshine’ brightens the lives of seriously ill young people by granting wishes and offering ongoing support within hospitals. With over 85,000 children in the UK facing life-threatening or life-limiting illnesses, the work of ‘Rays of Sunshine’ is more vital than ever. Their efforts provide a positive distraction, reduce isolation, and create cherished memories for children and their families during challenging times.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all participants of the Pancake Race, as well as the parents who joined in the festivities. Your involvement not only adds to the joy of the event but also contributes to the meaningful impact we make through our charitable endeavours.

Together, we demonstrate the power of community, compassion, and collective action. Thank you for your support in making a difference in the lives of those who need it most.

Let’s continue to spread warmth and kindness, one pancake flip at a time.

Thank you to all those involved as well as the parents who took part in the Pancake Race!
