Reception Forest School

It has been an ‘eggciting’ Spring term in Forest School with Reception. The children have been lucky enough to experience and enjoy the changing of the seasons from freezing cold winter snow to sunny spring days. The children appreciated listening to the natural music of the forest and created their own forest musical instruments. Some children got muddy while taking part in art activities, using natural materials to create their own masterpieces.

The children have begun to learn about how to look after the woodland and they all made ‘seed bombs’ to help increase the number of wild flowers that grow in our forest. They also became expert ‘trackers’ and found footprints from the animals and birds who visit our forest.

The children ended the term with a fun Easter Egg hunt set up by the Forest Fairies. The children were thrilled to explore the forest to find the hidden Easter Eggs and make their own chocolate Easter nests. The Forest Fairies had observed the children caring for each other and working hard in the forest this term and so they believed all the children deserved a special chocolate egg to take home.

Enjoy the Easter break everyone!
