Science Week Part Two!

What a fantastic finish to the second week of Science Week 2019. We had two great workshops, the first being the Eco Superhero workshop. The children created their own imaginary superhero and with their special powers acted out how to look after the environment. They learnt how recycling is very important as waste has a huge negative impact on the natural environment. Recycling helps to reduce the pollution caused by waste. The second workshop was the grand finale of Science Week. The STEAM workshop had everyone ‘On the Move’. You can read more about this by Mrs Baddick (see below).

STEAM Workshop

On Thursday ‘Learn by Design’ came to Grimsdell to deliver an inspiring range of STEAM workshops designed to provide interactive and engaging experiences to support classroom based science, technology, engineering and maths. A range of soft skills such as teamwork and communication complimented the children’s learning.

Reception focussed on the theme ‘On the Move’, Year 1 focussed on movement and robotics and Year 2 focussed on circuits.
