This week in Reception…

We had a wonderful start to the week by celebrating the Jewish festival Tu B’Shevat! We had two lovely Mummies from RHH come in to our classrooms to teach us about the special festival. Firstly we learned this is the festival where we celebrate the birthday of the trees. Trees provide us with oxygen and are home to many beautiful creatures. We ate delicious dates and grapes and learned how many seeds are in a pomegranate. We are so lucky to have been gifted three ‘Evergreen Trees’ from our visitors which are being planted this week in our Nursery Forest School. Happy birthday to all the beautiful trees! Thank you Jacobs Mummy and Boaz’s Mummy!

This week we have been spreading love all around by celebrating Valentines Day! We have had so much fun creating salt dough hearts and making unique valentines cards for our loved ones. In the classroom we have been making ‘love potions’ in the water tray, baking playdough heart cookies and challenging our fine motor skills with buttons and sticky hearts.

Thank you for joining us during this weeks Valentines Open House. We hope you enjoyed our ‘Skidamarink’ song we performed for you!

Have a wonderful half term Reception, stay safe and enjoy spending time together.

Happy Valentines!
