World Renowned Cardiac Expert to Lecture at School

Professor Derek Yellon will deliver the 2008 Francis Crick Lecture on Thursday 6th March when he addresses us on “Protecting the heart – from laboratory bench to bedside”.

Currently Professor of Cellular Cardiology at University College London (UCL), Derek Yellon PhD, DSc, Hon FRCP, FACC, FESC is an internationally acknowledged expert in his field. In 1994 he was awarded a DSc for his “substantial contribution to the knowledge of cardiovascular disease and treatment” and more recently has been made an Hon Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.A prolific author, Professor Yellon has published more than 300 full papers and edited 13 books; he also serves on the editorial board of a number of major Cardiovascular Journals.
