Gold Medal For Mathematician

Simon Bai with his medal

Recently 1,450 14 and 15 year old mathematicians took part in the Maths Challenge Olympiad. We are very pleased that both Simon Bai and Haruka Morita were amongst those who were the top performers and as such Haruka was recognised with a certificate. Simon’s performance was outstanding; he received a Distinction and a gold medal for finishing in the top 100. Simon’s medal was presented to him in a school assembly by headmaster, Dr Dominic Luckett.

Simon Bai rounded off his successful year for the chess club by winning his age group and coming second overall in the Middlesex section of the UK Chess Challenge. This is the biggest competition of its kind in the world, and Simon has qualified to play in the Southern regional final at Wellington College in July.
