Sports Update

Hockey

It has been an extremely encouraging and successful start to the term for the Hockey teams. Success is often measured by the number of wins, and it is great to see the 1st XI unbeaten on their circuit without conceding a goal and the 2nd XI registering a fantastic 5-1 win vs KCS Wimbledon. There has also been success in the London North County Competition, with the 1st XI, U16, U14A and U14B teams all qualifying for the final round. A notable highlight was the 1st XI qualified scoring 10 goals and conceding none. With over 80 senior girls at Games playing Hockey this term, and five Mill Hill pupils earning selection to the England Hockey Talent Academy, is also a success to be celebrated. I am excited for the rest of the term.

Rugby

The Rugby teams have had a busy start this term with block fixtures v QE Boys, Felsted, St George’s School Harpenden, and most recently St Benedict’s, with every team winning for the first time. Highlights include the U14B team who are on an unbeaten run and conceding only 19 points. Congratulations to the players that have been selected into the London Irish or Saracens Academy this year, with more than 10 boys selected for a Premiership Academy so far this year it is set to be an exciting Rugby season.

Upcoming Tours

The U15 Netball and Rugby Tours to the UAE started today, with 42 pupils flying from Heathrow to Dubai. They will be playing fixtures against some of the top Netball and Rugby teams in the UAE whilst taking in everything Dubai has to offer from the world’s fastest rollercoaster to a BBQ under the stars in the desert.
