Language Ambassadors

At the beginning of this term, the teachers in the Modern Foreign Languages Department nominated pupils who are our most promising linguists, and would be the ideal pupils to represent the department as Languages Ambassadors. The Languages Ambassadors meet every Friday lunchtime, when they prepare resources and activities to teach Languages to primary school aged pupils. This preparation culminated in a visit to St Paul’s Primary School on Friday 25 November 2022, when 14 ambassadors were selected to run 15 minute workshops with St Paul’s Year 5 pupils in Spanish, French and German.

The Languages Ambassadors were absolutely fantastic during this event, and demonstrated impressive leadership and enthusiasm. All of the St Paul’s pupils had a fantastic time and really benefitted from the experience of meeting and being taught by older peers. After three successful visits to St Paul’s since the Spring Term 2022, it is hoped that this initiative will continue and become an established tradition within the two schools, and the session would not have been nearly as successful without the passion and commitment demonstrated by the Languages Ambassadors. We are so grateful for and impressed by their energy and dedication, and they should be rightfully proud of their fantastic achievement.
