We welcome full and weekly boarders from many backgrounds and locations in the UK and around the world. While our Houses are suffused with rich history, our boarding model is modern and non-hierarchical. Every boarder’s voice is heard, and our House staff are dedicated to replicating a family atmosphere in which tolerance, empathy and mutual endeavour are always to the fore.
Our boarders develop a close attachment to their particular House, where they live and study under the care of a Housemaster or House Parent who knows them thoroughly and who maintains a close relationship with their families back home. House identity is keenly fostered as part of a close-knit community.
Younger pupils’ prep is supervised and supported by House staff. Those who are older are helped to develop the independence that will serve them at university.
The wide boarding community comes together for breakfast, supper and a variety of evening and weekend activities, society meetings, and creative and academic workshops. Our Boarders enjoy the independence of living away from home and with London on our doorstep, our boarding community is enriched by the cultural opportunities, activities, sports and trips such a vibrant multicultural city provides.
