Upper and Lower Sixth Form French A Level Screening of La Hanie

Our Upper and Lower Sixth Form pupils taking French at A Level enjoyed a screening of La Hanie by Mathieu Kassovitz.

La Haine follows the lives of three young men in the French suburbs for 24 hours the day after a violent riot. The pupils were very engaged while watching the film as it highlighted many topics and issues surrounding social stratification, abuse of power, and friction between the community and the police in France.

Kassovitz was inspired to produce this film following the tragic deaths of Malik Oussekine and Makomé M’Bowolé.
