Every day 780 people in the UK are told they have cancer; news that not only turns their world upside down but also affects their family and friends. Last year, two million people got together to help raise £7.6 million for the Macmillan Cancer Support charity. As in previous years, Belmont pupils and parents supported the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. They helped to create a huge stir as they joined together to ‘raise a cup’ to help improve the lives of people affected by cancer. Friends of Belmont arranged coffee and cakes for the adults and doughnuts for the children. A true spirit of generosity prevailed.
