Year 3 Science
Year 3 have been investigating materials. Here we see Mrs.Pendred with 3EP investigating the strength of different threads. 100g weights are placed on the cord until it breaks. Wool wasn’t particularly strong, however string held over 6kg, wowing it’s audience of excited Y3 onlookers!
Year 5 Science
As part of the topic of Solids, Liquids and Gases, Year 5 have been investigating air in water and writing down their observations. Here they are blowing Carbon Dioxide C02 down a drinking straw. As part of their prep they were also given the challenge of trying to balance a needle on Water Tension, a task that proved highly challenging!
Year 6 Science
Year 6 have been investigating Physical (Reversible) and Chemical (Irreversible) changes. As part of their experience using Bunsen Burners, the pupils can be seen changing a variety of materials, and then concluding the type of change it is.
