This week, Book Club took a trip down memory lane and thought about some books that they enjoyed as much younger children.
Being at home meant they could visit their bookshelves and dig out books from their younger days, remembering how it felt to enjoy these titles for the first time (and second, and third, and three hundredth!)
We discussed a range of fantastic and half-forgotten titles, and the pupils seemed to enjoy remembering these early reading experiences.
Our youngest Book Clubber, Asha, shared a whole range of brilliantly interactive and even bilingual books, but we wanted to nominate the ‘Busy Bug Book’ by Fiona Watt as our Book of the Week.
Asha explained that the book comes with an insect toy painted to look like a ladybird, and demonstrated how the book and the toy work together.
If you’d like to see the book in action, there’s a great clip on Usborne Book Basket’s YouTube channel here.
P.S I hope your World Book Day costumes are almost ready for next Thursday!
