U11 IAPS Rugby Tournament

U11 IAPS Rugby Tournament took place yesterday at Brentwood School. Whilst the boys  had a tough start facing Milton Keynes Prep in the first game, a physically strong team, and also went onto to lose the next game against the overall winners, they impressed with their maturity on and off the field.

Peter Morrison was the Captain and led the team with an outstanding sense of duty, pride and passion. He initiated a team talk, giving space for the boys to reflect upon the previous two matches and setting up goals and targets for the rest of day. The boys went on to win the next two matches with confidence. The wins were down to their teamwork in identifying the issues and coming up with solutions. They then transferred these onto the pitch to create a better team performance. There was a special moment when Peter thanked the parents after their first win and explained what they had discussed in the changing rooms to get the win.

The boys should feel a real sense of pride in their performance and it was a pleasure to witness. A huge thank you to Mr Hatherley-Hurford for his exceptional coaching.
