Year 4 and 5 Reading Challenge

It has been a positive start to the new academic year for the Lower School Reading Challenge. A number of children worked hard to read 10 books and produce some wonderful reviews during the Summer holidays. Years 4 and 5 are being encouraged by their teachers to work towards the challenge and I have enjoyed hearing about the progress they are making.

Congratulations to the following who have been awarded their Reading Challenge badges so far this term:

Autumn Term
Bronze
Bronze Advanced Ciara 5AD
Silver Nathalie 6FB, Amy 4EP, Charlie 5AD
Gold Aelith 6GJ, Eesan 5JD, Matilda Cu 5CC
Diamond Soha 6GJ
Diamond Advanced Soha 6GJ

NB – efforts have been made to ensure that all those who have received badges this term are named above. If your child’s name has been left out, this is an oversight on my part and I do apologise. Please do contact me and I will ensure that they are recognised next time.

Reading regularly is key to good academic progress and also supports mental health. By reading a wide range of different genres and exploring different topics, children should receive a balance of entertainment and challenge. Information about the Reading Challenge can be found in the Lower School area on Firefly as well as recommended reading list for Years 3 to 5.
