Wellbeing Week and the FOB Quiz

Wellbeing Week 2019

I hope that you have had an enjoyable week and that our families have enjoyed the many events organised as part of Wellbeing Week. From my own observations and initial pupil feedback it seems to have been a tremendous success. Whether it was 120 Year 8 pupils enjoying a session of Tai Chi, families going for an early morning run, yoga, open mic sessions, smoothie bikes, mindfulness, nature walks or osteopath and nutritionist sessions, there has been something for everyone to highlight the importance of physical and mental wellbeing. In assembly, we talked about staying healthy and happy and how being active, learning new things, being mindful, connecting with people and giving to others are all key elements of our wellbeing. A highlight of today was the BOP dance on the Chapel steps at break time. The children were overjoyed to witness the involvement of Mr Clement in a modern dance routine!

I would like to say a huge thank you to all the people involved in making the week such a success, all the teachers for putting on different types of lessons and of course Mr Symes, with the support of Miss Gimpel, for putting it all together. I would like to thank two parents in particular: Debbie Keller for her Yoga sessions and Michal Sagi for arranging all of the therapists. A brilliant week and I hope that it will encourage more of us to consider wellbeing every day of our lives.

FOB Quiz

Thank you so much to Mrs Marcou and all the Damianos family for organising last night’s exceptional FOB quiz. There was a lovely atmosphere with some fantastic music to entertain us, great food and a lot of fun attempting to answer the questions. Congratulations should go to ‘Second to None’ who lived up to their name and stormed to victory. The teachers’ table has work to do as we did not live up to the standards set over last two years. Sometimes, as Liverpool did with Barcelona on Wednesday, you have to put your hands up to the stronger team, or teams in our case! Luckily we are a growth mindset school and I am certain that we will all bounce back from this.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful bank holiday weekend.

Best wishes,
Leon Roberts
