Welcome back-we have lots of exciting changes

With our revamped website going live it gives me great pleasure to write my first Head’s blog. I will be writing a blog each week giving you the headlines of all the exciting things going on at Belmont.

Along with a new website we have an impressive influx of new teachers, coaches and a new school nurse starting this term. I will give you more detail about our new staff in my start of term newsletter on Friday but we welcome them all and we are very excited about the contribution they will all make to enhance the education of your children.

We also have a brand new building that is ready for occupation. The Roger Chapman building has three beautiful classrooms, a new Computing Suite and an amazing Design and Technology Studio. We have refurbished and modernised our library which we hope to open on Friday along with a bright and spacious Music Technology Room. We also have a coach parking bay to ease congestion on the front crossing and the temporary huts have been removed from the Master’s Lawn! In addition, work continues on the new changing block that should be ready for the start of October. Letters will be sent out on Thursday giving details of the ‘Upper School Meet the Tutors’ Evening’ on the 13^th September and the ‘Lower School Meet the Tutors’ Evening’ on the 19^th September. These events will be an opportunity for parents to:

meet their child’s new tutor informally
hear short presentations from me and the Senior Team about the future direction of the school
Hear from the Heads of Year and Head of Lower School about your child settling into the new year group
Finally you will be able to have a tour of all of the new developments

It was fantastic to see all of the new children in school for their induction day and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to school. Wishing everyone a fantastic start of term.
