Greens Made Easy Microgreens Workshop

Greens Made Easy recently visited our pupils to discuss the importance of microgreens. The mother-daughter duo, Frances and Helena spoke to the Littering and Gardening Club about the benefits of microgreens for both our bodies and the planet. The pupils were excited to learn that microgreens are packed with nutrients and are a great way to supplement your diet.

Microgreens are a type of vegetable that are harvested when they are still young and small, they have many health benefits. Microgreens are often 4 to 40 times more nutrient-dense than their mature counterparts, and they are a great source of vitamins and minerals. They are also easy to grow at home, and can be grown year-round with just a small amount of space.

During the visit, Greens Made Easy allowed the pupils to taste different types of microgreens vegetable and they were able plant their own tray of microgreen seeds. The pupils were excited to learn about the growing process and are eager to try their own microgreens when they were ready. The visit was a great success and the pupils left feeling inspired to incorporate microgreens into their diets and to continue to learn about sustainable gardening practices.
