PE & Games

Sport and physical activity form an important part of school life at The Mount, Mill Hill International.

All pupils participate in one timetabled PE lesson per week, and pupils in Year 9, Year 10 and the Fast Track course have one Games afternoon at Mill Hill School.

The PE curriculum at MMHI aims not only to develop pupils’ skills and understanding in a range of activities but also to give pupils the confidence and interest to be more physically active both whilst at school and in the future. The range of activities on the PE curriculum at MMHI includes health-related fitness, badminton, table tennis, netball, basketball, football, touch rugby, ultimate Frisbee, tennis and rounders.

Pupils have the opportunity to participate in the integrated Games programme at Mill Hill School one day per week where they can take advantage of the additional facilities and coaching expertise on offer. All Year 9 pupils participate in the major sports offered at Mill Hill School each term. Pupils in Years 10 and 11 have the option of participating in the major sports or from a wide choice of alternative activities. Sports facilities at Mill Hill School include extensive sports fields, tennis courts, sports hall, fitness suite, weights room, fives courts and a swimming pool.

There is a busy sporting calendar running throughout the year with sports fixtures for school teams taking place regularly on Saturdays and during the week. There are also opportunities for pupils to represent their House in various sporting competitions. One of the most popular events on the school sports calendar is the 5 and 10 Mile Cup running races. Two MMHI pupils were part of the victorious Collinson Girls team in 2017.
